March – Youth Culture!!!

Our clothes,  our music,  our concerns, our friends our future!!!! How represent ourselves as youth. Go to school, local hangouts the street family gatherings. Shoot images of youth  and about youth from a young persons perpective…from your perspective!!!!!

Questions for photographers to answer visually while shooting

  1. What kind of image do I want to shoot? Action shot? portrait? landscape? Still life?
  2. What setting should I adjust my camera to according to the kind of image I want to shoot?
  3. How will my angle affect the meaning and interpretation of my image?
  4. What kind of composition looks good in the view finder. Do I see interesting lines and shapes, colors, textures, repeated ?
  5. Did I compose the image in the view finder using THE RULE OF THIRDS?


Questions when reflecting on own work

  1. Describe your favorite image you shot.
  2. What repeated symbols or objects do you see  in the series of images you shot.
  3. What do you find interesting about youth in Morocco?
  4. What does the series of images mean to you? In reflecting,  what do the images convey about Moroccan youth? 


Questions for audience to answer while viewing images

  1. Describe your favorite image. What images, symbols or icons do you see.
  2. What does the image mean to you? What does the image say or mean about youth in Los Angeles or Morocco?
  3. Based on the image, what is the photogrpaher interested in in terms of youth culture?
  4. What did you expect before viewing the images from your partner school about youth
  5. Were your expectations met or challenged? How were your expectations challenged? How do you think your expectations of your partner school were formed?
  6. What do you have in common with the youth perspective of your partner school?
